A TUNNEL from the Eastern Freeway to the Tullamarine Freeway will be considered by the Baillieu government as part of an infrastructure plan ordered by Treasurer Kim Wells, following widespread criticism that Victoria is not planning major projects.
Mr Wells has ordered his department to urgently get to work on an infrastructure plan for Victoria after being warned the state is at risk of losing billions of dollars of investment and thousands of skilled workers to New South Wales and Queensland.
The Age believes the government will reconsider a range of transport projects flagged by the previous government, including an east-west road tunnel from the Eastern Freeway to the Tullamarine Freeway, a metro rail tunnel from Footscray to St Kilda Road, and a ''missing link'' connection between the Metropolitan Ring Road and the Eastern Freeway.

JJ Holland Bike track
This is an almost-final plan for the changes to the bike track. The second 'pump track' to the north is unlikely, according to the consultant.
So, that means for the removal of the current track, and a few trees, there is a pump track (the larger, southerly one) and two sets of jumps, one beginner, and one a bit bigger.

Funding for road tunnel(s) unlikely
MULTIBILLION-DOLLAR plans for a freeway road tunnel in Melbourne's west and a 17-kilometre rail tunnel under the city centre - proposed by the Brumby government but never funded - are now unlikely to get money from Canberra, the state's new Transport Minister says.
In his first wide-ranging interview about the challenges facing Victoria's beleaguered transport system, Terry Mulder said federal money for major infrastructure projects promised by the previous government was fast drying up.
''When you have a look at the billions of dollars from around Australia - and have a look at what has just happened in Queensland - the feeling that I am getting is that over the next few years it is most likely smaller projects that are going to get federal government funding.''

Changes to dog off-leash areas
Essentially, the new artificial turfed soccer field is a dog free zone. Most other areas are now off lead, with a few exceptions, including (obviously) the kid's playground and surrounds.
